Alert

The Alert module of the admin console consists of functionalities such as display the available alerts, create alert, edit alert details, view alert details and delete alert.


Display the available alerts

1. Click on the Compliance > Alerts icon on the left menu.


2. The available alerts will be displayed in table view format as shown below with details like Alert name, Alert type, Alert condition, Target type and Target count.

 


3. The Alert List screen contains the following functionalities:

  • Create alert – a new alert can be created.
  • Context Menu – A context menu will be displayed which has sub-menus like View alert details, Edit alert and Delete alert.
  • Column chooser - The list of columns to appear in the table view can be enabled/disabled.
  • Pagination – If the no. of alerts is large and exceeds the page, pagination will appear at the bottom using which previous/Next alert list can be viewed.
  • Items per page - can be set by selecting the desired no. from the dropdown at the bottom. By default, the number of rows per page is set as 10.


Create Alert


A new alert can be created using the steps given below.


1. Click on the Create alert icon on the top of the Alert List screen.


2. Create alert screen will be displayed based on the Alert type (Battery/Device offline/Reminder/Sim change) as shown below. 


3. Enter values for the below mentioned fields for battery alert type:

  • Alert name – Name of the battery alert to be created (Mandatory)
  • Alert type – Battery (Mandatory)
  • Set battery condition -  Battery percentage: equal or less than this value, the alert will trigger (Mandatory)
  • Beep on device – beep will be performed on the device (Optional)
  • Allow notification - whether to notify the alert in console or email or both (Optional)
  • Email ids – Email ids to which the alert will be sent (up to 5 email ids) (Mandatory if email notification option is selected)
  • Target type – Group / Device to which the alert need to be applied (Mandatory)


 


4. Enter values for the below mentioned fields for Device offline alert type: 

  • Alert name – Name of the Device offline alert to be created (Mandatory)
  • Alert type – Device offline (Mandatory)
  • Device offline – Day & Hrs: based on the value the alert will trigger (Mandatory)
  • Allow notification - whether to notify the alert in console or email or both (Optional)
  • Email ids – Email ids to which the alert will be sent (up to 5 email ids) (Mandatory if email notification option is selected)
  • Frequency – Frequency at which the email needs to be sent (Optional)
  • Target type – Group / Device to which the alert need to be applied (Mandatory)

 


5. Enter values for the below mentioned fields for Reminder alert type: 

  • Alert name – Name of the Device offline alert to be created (Mandatory)
  • Alert type – Reminder (Mandatory)
  • Reminder Description - Brief description about the reminder (Mandatory) 
  • Date – Date, Day & Hrs: based on the value the alert will trigger (Mandatory)
  • Allow notification - whether to notify the alert in console or email or both (Optional)
  • Email ids – Email ids to which the alert will be sent (up to 5 email ids) (Mandatory if email notification option is selected)
  • Target type – Group / Device / User to which the alert need to be applied (Mandatory) 



6. Enter values for the below mentioned fields for Sim change alert type: 

  • Alert name – Name of the Device offline alert to be created (Mandatory)
  • Alert type – Sim change (Mandatory)
  • Allow notification - whether to notify the alert in console or email or both (Optional)
  • Email ids – Email ids to which the alert will be sent (up to 5 email ids) (Mandatory if email notification option is selected)
  • Target type – Group / Device to which the alert need to be applied (Mandatory) 



7. After entering the values for the above fields, Click the Submit button.

 

8. A new alert will be created and displayed in the alert list screen.



Edit alert details

The details of an individual alert can be edited using the Edit alert screen.

1. From the List view screen, click on the three vertical dots at the end of the alert row.

 

2. A context menu will be displayed, select the 'Edit' option.

 

3. The existing details of the selected alert will be displayed as shown below.


 

4. Edit the alert details like alert name, alert type, condition, notification, email id, frequency and target type and click the Submit button. 


5. The edited values will be updated for the selected alert.

 


View alert details


The details of an individual alert can be viewed in the View alert details screen using the steps given below.

 

1. From the Alert List screen, click on the three vertical dots at the end of the alert row.

 

2. A context menu will be displayed from which the 'View details' option can be selected.

 

3. The view alert details screen as shown below will be displayed.


 

4. The top portion of the screen will display details of the selected alert like Alert name, Alert type, Alert condition, Alert to email id, Target type and Action on device.

 

5. The bottom portion of the screen will display the Alert history details which displays the list of alerts triggered on the target device/group.


Delete Alert


An existing alert can be deleted using the steps given below.

 

1. From the Alert List view screen, click on the three vertical dots at the end of the alert row.

 

2. A context menu will be displayed, select the 'Delete' option.

 

3. A confirmation message will be displayed as shown below.


4. Click the Continue button, the selected alert will be deleted.
