Single App Kiosk Setup

Created by Vasu VS, Modified on Mon, 20 Apr at 12:42 PM by Vasu VS

The Single App Kiosk mode in the Quantem Console locks a managed device to run only one specific application. This is ideal for dedicated-use devices such as POS terminals, digital signage displays, self-service kiosks, or any device that needs to be restricted to a single business application. Once configured and assigned, the device will launch directly into the designated app and users will not be able to access any other apps or device settings.

How to Access

  1. Log in to the Quantem Console

  2. From the left-hand navigation menu, click on Kiosk

Steps to Set Up a Single App Kiosk

Step 1: Navigate to Kiosk
From the left-hand navigation, click on Kiosk. The Kiosk page will display all existing kiosk profiles.

Step 2: Create a New Kiosk or Edit Existing
You have two options at this stage:

  • Create New Kiosk — Click on Create Kiosk to set up a new kiosk profile from scratch

  • Edit Existing Kiosk — If a kiosk profile already exists, click the three-dot menu ( ⋮ ) on the kiosk row and select View/Edit Details to modify it

For a new setup, click Create Kiosk and proceed with the steps below.

Step 3: Enter Kiosk Details
Fill in the following fields in the Create Kiosk screen:

Field

Description

Kiosk Name

Enter a name for the kiosk profile (e.g., Reception-KioskPOS-Terminal-01)

Platform / Device Type

Select the platform and device type the kiosk will be deployed on (e.g., Android)

Kiosk Mode

Select the kiosk operating mode

Step 4: Select Kiosk Mode – Single App
Under Kiosk Mode, two options will be available:

  • Single App Mode — Locks the device to one application only

  • Multi App Mode — Allows multiple apps to be accessible on the kiosk

Select Single App Mode to proceed with a single app kiosk setup.

Step 5: Add the Application

  • Click Add to open the app selection screen

  • From the list of whitelisted apps in the App Catalog, select the application you want to run as the kiosk app

  • Click Add to confirm the selection

Step 6: Select the Kiosk System Launcher

  • After adding the app, you will be prompted to select the Kiosk System Launcher

  • Select the same application that was added in Step 5 as the system launcher

  • This ensures the device boots directly into the selected app and the app is set as the default launcher on the device
Important: The application selected as the Kiosk App and the Kiosk System Launcher must be the same application. This locks the device into that single app experience from boot.

Step 7: Review and Submit

  • Click Next to review the kiosk configuration summary

  • Verify all settings are correct

  • Click Submit to save the kiosk profile

The kiosk profile will now appear in the Kiosk list on the console.

Step 8: Assign the Kiosk Profile
Once the kiosk profile is saved, assign it to the target device or group using one of the following methods:

  • Assign to a Device — Navigate to Manage > Device, select the target device, and assign the kiosk profile directly

  • Assign to a Group — Navigate to Manage > Group, select the target kiosk group, and assign the kiosk profile to the group. All devices in the group will receive the kiosk configuration
