Force Install Apps

Created by Vasu VS, Modified on Mon, 20 Apr at 12:08 PM by Vasu VS

The Quantem Console allows admins to control how and when apps are installed on enrolled devices through Installation Type settings. When a device is enrolled into Quantem MDM, apps configured with a specific installation type are automatically handled — whether that is a forced silent installation, pre-installation recognition of OEM apps, or a complete block on app installation.

Installation Type Options

There are three Installation Type options available:

1. Force Install

Field

Details

What it does

Automatically and silently installs the app on the device as soon as it is enrolled into Quantem MDM

How it works

The app is downloaded and installed directly from the Google Play Store on highest priority — no user action required

User Interaction Required

None — completely silent

Priority

Highest — installed first upon device enrollment

Best Used For

Mandatory business apps, security tools, MDM companion apps

2. Pre-installed

Field

Details

What it does

Handles apps that are already present on the device by the OEM or device manufacturer

How it works

The console checks if the app is already installed by the OEM. If present, it is whitelisted and recognized by MDM. If not present, it can be pushed from the Play Store

User Interaction Required

None — handled silently

Best Used For

OEM pre-loaded apps, manufacturer system apps, or device-specific bundled utilities

3. Blocked

Field

Details

What it does

Completely prevents the app from being installed on the device

How it works

The app is blacklisted at the policy level. Even if the user attempts to install it from the Play Store, the installation is blocked by MDM

User Interaction Required

None — block is enforced automatically

Can the user install it?

No — fully blocked

Best Used For

Social media, entertainment, or any app not permitted on organization-managed devices
